Welcome! I’m Fiona Thomson. Registered Psychologist and Founder of Blooming Lotus Psychology.
I deeply understand how challenging it can be to take the first step toward engaging in therapy. It takes immense courage to reach out, and I honor the vulnerability that comes with this process. My role is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel supported, safe, and empowered to begin or continue your healing journey.
My personal experiences with anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and chronic illness have profoundly shaped my approach as a therapist. For much of my life, I was disconnected from my body, living in a way that focused on external goals and achievements, rather than truly listening to my inner experience. It wasn’t until I began integrating body-based healing practices, particularly Somatic Experiencing, that I experienced a profound transformation. The process of reconnecting with my body has been life-changing, and it’s something I’m passionate about guiding my clients through as well.

Our Approach & Values
I’ve been fully registered with AHPRA for nearly six years and have dedicated two years to training in Somatic Experiencing, a powerful trauma-informed approach that focuses on the body’s innate wisdom.
In our work together, I combine this with traditional approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to offer a truly holistic and personalised therapeutic experience. Therapy, to me, is not a one-size-fits-all process. It’s about experimenting, exploring, and finding what resonates for you in a compassionate, flexible space.
At Blooming Lotus Psychology, our key values are authenticity, integrity, compassion, and empowerment. I believe that reclaiming your authentic self is the key to reclaiming your life. While traditional talk therapy offers valuable insight and understanding, alone, it can often feel limited when it doesn’t go deep enough to change the subconscious patterns stored in the body. We can understand ourselves better, but still feel stuck, disconnected, or frustrated. That’s because lasting change requires healing the mind-body disconnect. Transforming your relationship with your body and emotions is a life-changing experience, and my goal is to support you in doing just that—so you can live a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with who you truly are.
